Further details available for S7M-00294.3 followed by Decision Time followed by Members Business - S7M-00188 Alyn Smith: Growing Scotland’s Screen Sector That the Parliament welcomes the work undertaken by Creative Scotland and Screen Scotland to support the film and screen industry and create opportunities for Scotland’s cultural and arts sector; recognises what it sees as the potential economic and cultural opportunities that a new studio facility and dedicated screen skills academy could bring to Scotland, including Stirling; notes that Scotland’s screen sector reportedly contributed £718 million to the Scottish economy in 2023 and supported 12,260 full-time equivalent jobs; welcomes the fact that the sector is on course to contribute £1 billion annually to the Scottish economy by the end of 2030-31, and commends Screen Scotland, local authority screen offices and all others who have contributed to the continued successful growth of the sector in Scotland.
